Performance
You’ll want a quick truck that can effortlessly merge onto the highway in Reading, PA. The new Toyota Tacoma offers three four-cylinder engine options to get the fuel economy or acceleration you prefer, including a hybrid powertrain that produces 326 horsepower and 465 pound-feet of torque.
The new Nissan Frontier only offers one engine. Its 310-horsepower V6 motor only generates 281 pound-feet of torque.
Capability
If you wish to be able to drive through rugged landscapes and power through snow-covered roads in Ephrata, you’ll want the Toyota Tacoma. With available four-wheel drive and up to 11 inches of ground clearance, the Tacoma is one of the best midsize trucks for venturing off the beaten path.
The new Nissan Frontier offers some off-road-oriented trims, but its highest available ground clearance is just 9.8 inches.
Technology
You’ll be impressed with the new Toyota Tacoma’s improved infotainment system. While it comes standard with an 8-inch touchscreen, a 14-inch display is available. Lititz drivers will appreciate that the Tacoma now comes standard with wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto, so there’s no need to plug in a cord.
The new Nissan Frontier only offers a choice of an 8-inch or a 9-inch touchscreen. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay require a wired connection in base models, and wireless Android Auto is not available in the Frontier.
